Wonderful Words of Life

Isaiah 40:5-8  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Here is a good reminder that we are as grass.  And even if we are as beautiful as flowers, flowers too fade and pass away.  We will be gone from this earth soon! "...but the word of our God shall stand for ever.  God's Word is more beautiful than any flower and will never fade away.  It will never fail.  It will stand forever!  This brings another reminder of the great hymn

Wonderful Words of Life

Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life,
Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful words of life;
Words of life and beauty teach me faith and duty.
Refrain
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life,
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
Christ, the bless├Ęd One, gives to all wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call, wonderful words of life;
All so freely given, wooing us to heaven.
Refrain
Sweetly echo the Gospel call, wonderful words of life;
Offer pardon and peace to all, wonderful words of life;
Jesus, only Savior, sanctify us forever.
Refrain
Oh, that I would want to fill my mind and heart with more and more of God's Word!  That way I can truly speak to myself in psalm and hymns and spiritual songs.
